Macaroni cheese

This is a basic recipe for cheese sauce to serve 2, so if you want to make macaroni cheese just mix some (125g-ish) cooked pasta with the cheese sauce in a baking dish and sprinkle some cheese on top. You could add cooked onions to the mixture, sliced tomatoes to the top, etc to make it more interesting. I think it's best with baked beans!

20g butter/margarine
20g flour, preferably corn flour but if not then plain flour
1/2 pint of milk
salt and pepper
Grated cheese

To cook in a pan:
-Melt the butter in a pan.
-Stir in the flour to form a paste.
-Gradually stir in the milk while gently heating.
-Stir in the grated cheese.
-Add salt and pepper to taste.
-Cook until the mixture becomes a thick sauce.

To cook in a microwave:
-Melt the butter in a bowl.
-Stir in the flour to form a paste.
-Stir in the milk.
-Microwave for a minute.
-Stir in the grated cheese and add salt and pepper to taste.
-Microwave for a minute at a time, stiring between each minute until the mixture becomes a thick sauce.
